Check meeting agendas, budgets, court dockets, election offices, emergency managers and public-records portals at the relevant jurisdiction.
Build the contact map
- Confirm city, county, state, tribal and federal jurisdiction.
- Find the agency page, records officer and public meeting calendar.
- Add local outlets, public media, universities and community organizations.
- Record time zone, geography and recurring hazards that shape the assignment.
Do not treat a directory listing as proof that an outlet is active. Open the site, confirm recent publishing and note ownership.
